Privacy Policy

The short version: Orbop saves your progress and a little device information so the game works, we use it to make the game better, and we never sell it. The details are below.

Who we are

Orbop (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a mobile game you download on iOS or Android. This policy explains what information we collect when you play, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.

By downloading or playing Orbop you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please delete the game.

Information we collect

We keep collection to the minimum needed to make the game work. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, camera, microphone or precise location.

  • Game data. Your progress, best distance or score, unlocked planets, preferences and purchase entitlements, so you can pick up where you left off.
  • Device data. Device model, operating system version, app version, language, region and a resettable device identifier used to keep your progress and purchases tied to your device.
  • Usage data. Session length, taps, planets reached, and where you drop off, plus crash reports and performance logs when the game stops working.
  • Store data. When you install or buy through the App Store or Google Play, the store passes us a receipt or entitlement so we can confirm a purchase. The store keeps your payment details — we never see your card number.

How we use information

  • Save your progress and restore it when you reinstall.
  • Make the game fun and fair — tuning planet difficulty and spotting cheats.
  • Find and fix crashes, and improve performance on devices like yours.
  • Answer support requests you send us.
  • Meet legal and platform requirements set by Apple and Google.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising across other companies’ apps and websites. We only pass data to:

  • App stores. Apple and Google process installs, refunds and purchases, and may report them to us in aggregate.
  • Service providers. Hosting, analytics and crash-reporting tools that process data on our terms and only for the purposes above.
  • Legal bodies. Where we are required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of players and the game.
  • A buyer. If Orbop is acquired or merged, player data may move with the business; we would tell you first.

Advertising and tracking

If a version of Orbop shows ads, our ad partner may use your device advertising identifier to limit how often the same ad appears and to count installs. You can reset or limit that identifier at any time:

  • iPhone or iPad: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
  • Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID, or delete it.

Turning this off does not stop you from playing, and ads may still appear.

How long we keep data

Game, device and usage data are kept while you have Orbop installed and for a short period afterwards so a reinstall can restore your progress. Crash logs are kept for up to 90 days. Aggregated, de-identified statistics that cannot be traced back to you may be kept longer.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us at any time to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct it, or delete it and close out your progress.
  • Stop processing it, or export it in a portable format.
  • Not sell or share it (California), and honour a Global Privacy Control.

Deleting the game removes data stored on your device. Where a store offers its own data-deletion flow, you can use that instead. We will verify your identity before answering, and reply within 30 days. Requests are free.

Children

Orbop is a family-friendly game but is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age). We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you are a parent and believe your child has sent us data, write to the address below and we will remove it.

Security and transfers

We use encryption in transit, access controls and least-privilege servers. No system is completely secure, so we also minimise what we collect in the first place. Data may be processed on servers outside your country, where we rely on standard contractual safeguards for transfers.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the game before they take effect.
